What an impact this large flower has in the garden.  Red and green are opposites on the color wheel meaning the colors are a stark contrast and create tension when together.  For a daylily, this tension means visual excitement and when combined with the 8” flower size, Jackhammer cannot be missed in the garden.

Compared to its sibling (Pinewood Sledgehammer), Jackhammer is much brighter in color with the pink watermark covering much of the petal.  While a little on the short side, it blooms well above the foliage and will be a show off in the front of a garden bed.

We have set pods on Jackhammer and enjoyed some fine seedlings in summer of 2023.
